Yeeeeeeah. Honestly, Death Battle has a real problem with reaching logic. I think my 'favorite' example of that was 'Zero was designed to kill Mega Man, and Mega Man can dodge force beams which are pure light. Ergo, Zero is faster than the speed of light.' I personally subscribe to rule zero; whoever the author wants to win, will win.
It’s so funny because it’s like, the logical extreme of that particular type of nerddom. Stories are not mere stories written by human beings to evoke specific feelings or to get a certain point across. No, they’re puzzles to be solved. They’re little windows into a fully formed fictional universe that the author is simply guiding us through, and there HAS to be a logical way to fit every single thing together, to explain and measure everything objectively for the wiki. Characters don’t do things simply because it was how the author decided to tell the story, but rather because each character’s potential actions must be defined by their DnD character sheet. These two stories made by different creative teams don’t have inconsistencies because they’re separate works with different creative goals, there has to be an explanation in the lore
There must be an objective, correct reading of the ending of Twin Peaks. The entire Mario franchise must have a master timeline. Rey must be a part of a special bloodline to explain her Jedi powers. There must be a scientific explanation for why Utena turned into a car. There must be an objective answer to whether Goku or Superman would win in a fight, using science
No meaning, only lore
